Profile Summary
Vorarlberger Kraftwerke AG (VKW) is an Austria-based local energy provider for the Vorarlberg region of Austria. VKW's power is generated entirely from renewable sources, principally by hydroelectric power stations, but also using other renewable energy sources, such as biomass and solar energy. The Company divides its business activities into the two segments Energy and Gas. Alongside its energy and natural gas supply activities, VKW is also active in the field of telecommunications services through its subsidiaries Allgaeuer Elektrizitaets-Gesellschaft m.b.H. and Lindenberger Telekommunikations GmbH. Furthermore, it offers district heating services, using its biomass facilities. The Company is a subsidiary of Vorarlberger Illwerke AG. VKW also operates through subsidiaries such as VEG Vorarlberger Erdgas GmbH, which is active within the Gas segment; Vorarlberger Energienetze GmbH, that is engaged in the management activities of the Company's electricity grid.
